The Idea

For Mac or PC, develop a software that allows customizable contextual menu options that allows one take the highlighted text and do a search directly in Wikipedia or any other web service that has a search feature. Currently the Mac has one that can look up the highlighted word in the Dictionary, Spotlight, and Google. The point is to avoid having to switch to the browser first and then entering the request in the correct search box and save a step.

I thought of this idea when I was...

wanting a quick and easy way to look up a term while I was using my system. Well, there's always the Wikipedia widget.

I'm not sure, but aren't there some Firefox extensions that do this?
