The Elevator Pitch

For Facebook users who like to drop the rhyme in overtime the Rhymzbook Facebook application is a entertaining social game that helps people engage in a casual word game with friends. Unlike other Facebook applications our product is centered around user generated content..

The Idea

Rhymzbook is a Facebook application where users get their friends to help collaborate on song lyrics or poems.

For example lets say that I'm writing a rap song and I'm stuck on one verse "I used to know this "Lady of the Night" named Matty May..." I could roll out that line to everyone on my friends list. My friends seeing that I needed help could post their thoughts on what the next line should be.

Chris says: "...I had to dump her cause she thought I was gay!"
David says: "...She turned out not to be a girl to my dismay!"
Gord says: "...I used to be up in that &%$#* like everyday!"

I could pick the best line and move on.

Another feature of the app could be that I allow all of my friends to write the rap song line by line. At the end of the process I could record myself droppin it to a few prerecorded beats. This may turn out a few unintentional hits.

Perhaps the main site attached to this app could feature the best of these collaborative efforts! The model would have to be advertisement for now but depending on the uptake it could turn into something a little more robust later.

I thought of this idea when I was...

When I was bored and drunk I used to freestyle rhyme with a few of my friends. The outcome was always outrageously funny. Fun was had by all. I think it would be great to collaborate on something like this with my friends on Facebook. It would be really cool to see who all chips in.

Get the idea, but the title got me started off wrong.
And in this way it's never gonna be a good song
Glory will come once you change the name
'Cause if you're not understood that would really be a shame.

This idea is shizzle to my hizzle.

I don't really know what that means. But I do love me some Facebook apps. Good one.

I have to admit that it's kinda hard to think of a business model for a application that helps people write and perform rap music. I hate to say that the only real model is advertisement but in the short term I believe that to be the case.

I believe that this application could be put together very easily and the overhead would be relatively low. The main goal of the application would be to attract as many users as possible to make it attractive acquisition target. There are a few possible companies that this might be attractive to, Sell-a-Band and RapSpace.tv to name a couple.

It certainly not a Google competitor by any stretch of the imagination but properly executed it could sell for $25 to $35K.
