The Elevator Pitch

For anyone who enjoys being prepared the Restaurant Review service is a website that allows you to know what you're getting before you even enter the restaurant. Unlike going unprepared our product will help guarantee satisfaction when on the night out.

The Idea

A website featuring maps to restaurants (like Google Maps), pictures of dishes and the restaurant, and reviews of dishes (presentation, taste, etc) and of the restaurant in general (atmosphere, service, etc). This would all be submitted by the community, who could also make friends with people with similar tastes.

Profit could be made with advertisements and possibly premium content.

I thought of this idea when I was...

I thought of this idea when I saw a website similar to my idea, but for hotels showing video of lobbies and rooms.

interesting concept... a little detailed and maybe a bit complicated at first but the starting point a very valid idea...im starting the R&D stage of opening my own organic based restaurant any tips or ideas on how to pursue that as far as funding goes...?

I'm not sure I can help you with that. I don't have any experience with that kind of thing.

Thanks for the input though.

I know there are loads of these in Europe. What is difficult is that judgement is subjective.
What you might like a nice piece of meat, for me might be too greasy, etc.

I have built this on a regional basis before.

DividedEye, now that you say that, I'm thinking that a regional thing would work much better.

Online reservation to restaurant will be much more helpful.

whats keeping Google from doing this and destroying you in this market?

It would be good to ask a question about a restaurant and it would notify anybody who'd visited before (and allowed the site to notify them).
