The Idea

To create a freely available web-based system and platform to build sustainable businesses, but more targeted towards NGO's.
A user will login and post their idea, preferably in a wiki type page and set some ground rules(settings) for their idea, like visibility, participants, etc
Other users who believe in the idea can participate, earning points for making suggestions, commenting, voting, completing tasks, etc
Once the idea is expanded upon, participants suggest categories/departments in which to split work and goals, continuing to break the idea down to the implementation level, where participant will executing tasks
Users can participate in any level and area of an organization, from highly strategy to low level implementation, but if they spread out their focus too much they stand a chance of not adding real value to the business and so not earning participation points.
Monetization: possibly a small percent share in each revenue generating business operating via the site.

I thought of this idea when I was...

I once had an idea, before I came across cambrian house, and was in fact the reason I came across it while doing research, as it is very similar, but has some core differences.

(Update) I've completely abandoned this idea by now, as Cambrian House with all it's recent updates and upgrades has basically accomplished everything I imagined for idea and more.

It is the same now, but before all the recent updates to Cambrian House it was unique from it. My idea is essentially the same result, just a different means.
I don't think I'll continue with this idea, as Cambrian House is doing a bang up job already as it is. :)
