As Facebook grows in numbers but still doesnt know how to become truly profitable, I couldnt help but think they should provide the platform in a closed format for corporations to network and brainstorm internally. Some companies are already doing this but Facebook should have an advantage that most people are familiar with the tools.
Every company today can use a corporate network where management can communicate more effectively with employees and there can be collaboration of ideas and problem solving.
I think in the future this will be the norm and every company will have such a network.
The profitability is clear as you can charge either by number of users or by functionality used etc.
It needs to be closed to employees to avoid socializing and unrelated surfing of the web.
Strugling to get some point accross within my company and realized a lot of information got lost in translation.
I think that's a great idea. I was thinking of something similar to your idea for awhile now.
not very original...ppl have been on this project it seems
I agree with benjubby. Companies can easily build an intranet to use as communication within the staff. If you want a social network you can easily get one for free on Ning.com
IBM is definitely on this one already.
there are some already on this one..they can use http://www.ning.com
Facebook makes substantial money (about $25 Million a month) from advertising made possible by the content provided by their members. They rank behind MYspace, I think, by about $5 million a month. Still a pretty viable idea.
Linkedin is more business orientated than any of the other social networking sites. I tried something for the aviation industry last year and I closed it. They network via the phone.
It's a tough one.
Got something to say?
