Hello!

You've landed in the archive of the Cambrian House community. We've kept some pages here for posterity but the community is no longer active. Now we market the technology that made our early crowdsourcing a success.

Can we help you get to Cambrian House the company? – Come on over.

Cambrian House

Cambrian House is a very interesting idea - crowdsourced software. Their goal is to leverage the wisdom of crowds to both receive as well as filter business ideas, code and creative content.
Ken Yarmosh, Jul 2006

Cambrian House began as a crowdsourcing community using a wisdom of crowds based approach to discover new business and technology ideas. These pages are being kept online as a technology demo to showcase Chaordix™.

Looking to harness the power of your crowd? Find out about Chaordix™ - technology that enables enterprises to get the most out of crowdsourcing.

Connect with talented people. Collaborate on ideas. Realize your vision.
It's free! Like love in the sixties!

The Idea

For a one-off fee (e.g. $20), all you need to run your party, 1) customized email invites, 2) food/drink recipe database, 3) customizable streaming music and visualizations 4) party games 5) web-cam tools (stream your party around the world, connect with other parties) All delivered through broadband connection on the night and modifiable (e.g., new people at party can add new music requests)

I thought of this idea when I was...

I once threw a small party and used my computer to generate the music and visual effects. I think it could be done way better!!!

You can get most of this stuff for free as it is:
1) evite
2) webtender.com
3) several different sites do customized streaming music with suggestions and whatnot, reinventing the wheel is bad
4) go google "party games"
5) Why?

Hey Casey

I certainly dont recommend reinventing the wheel. Just dont want to visit 5 different sites to do one task. Aggregate these pre-existing features into one place and you have done what would take the person 2-3 hours to do separately. That is worth $20 to me! Especially if I get membership to all those different places at the same time!

Did I hear 'aggregation'? - you've got my interest.

I'm a great fan of sites which aggregate activities across the web - save time and labour.

I agree with Casey, except... the idea of a "Day Pass" to a massive database of music, and allowing your guests to vote for songs, to make the mix for the night.

That idea seems like a better thing than the Party Planner idea, and you could get sites like evite to use it as well.

It pains me to possibly put yet another of your ideas into a Tournament, PsychSplash (jeez man leave some room for other people why don't ya! j/k ) but I like the idea a lot so I'm giving it a good score anyway.

If this would handle the food and drink, it could go a lot further.
