The Idea
My idea is to create a national learning system that would incorporate the web along with a laptop issued per child. Children are issued one laptop for there entire school term. Of course the laptops would have some sort of fingerprint reader as to discourage theft and fraud. As for the online aspect this would allow parents or guardians to interact and track there child's progressaccomplishments. Also the parents would have ultimate control over there child's educational direction and any content in which the child could receive via web. Also parent teacher conferencing could be done via video chat of course the laptops would need cams on them. Children would still attend classes like normal. In the class there would be desk docks that accept the laptop and syncs the previous days assignments or homework. There are some real advantages to this because kids would be able to accelerate there learning to there learning needs. Another benefit would be teachers could reach more children
I thought of this idea when I was...
I think what inspired me the most is the fact that our educational system in this country is sad practically a joke compared to other countries. Socialization at school is an important aspect to maturing into a stable and healthy adult. I feel that even though this would be costly if you look at what is spent on corrections and welfare and all the other resources wasted because of our flawed system could be put towards this instead. Sometimes for more intelligent children school becomes repetitive and dull causing the child to loose motivation and interest because they are no longer mentally stimulated so that leads to destructive activities, but if a child stays interested and always has a challenge to face then there's no time for these activities. Also a lot of schooling is unnecessary to a lot of children this would be able to hone in on the child's natural talents and focus on bringing these attributes out.
