Hello!

You've landed in the archive of the Cambrian House community. We've kept some pages here for posterity but the community is no longer active. Now we market the technology that made our early crowdsourcing a success.

Can we help you get to Cambrian House the company? – Come on over.

Are you seeking crowdsourcing technology? – Check out Chaordix by Cambrian House.

Cambrian House

Cambrianhouse has inspired me to become more professional and study a whole lot of new things, so now I am a lot more skilled and I think I may have landed a killer job at Electronic Arts, probably thanks to the mention of Gwabs
Cory Ross

Cambrian House began as a crowdsourcing community using a wisdom of crowds based approach to discover new business and technology ideas. These pages are being kept online as a technology demo to showcase Chaordix™.

Looking to harness the power of your crowd? Find out about Chaordix™ - technology that enables enterprises to get the most out of crowdsourcing.

The Elevator Pitch

For web designers who need inspiration the eMuse Me site is a toolbar that allows designers to discover new sites. Unlike StumbleUpon our product specifically focuses on the design community.

The Idea

You're a designer who is looking to come up with a slick new design for your latest Web x.0 project. You're out of ideas and need some inspiration ASAP. Last month's design magazine was a bore and you don't have time to run down to IKEA to find your creative muses. Instead, you head over to the eMuse Me website where you get a random sampling of some of the sickest, dopest, most sweetly-designed sites on the web today.

The site would prompt you to install a simple toolbar (similar to StumbleUpon). To find inspiration, you would click a button and you'd instantly be whisked away to a (precached) site with an amazing design. You could vote if you like the site or not, and move on to the next random site when you are ready. The sites would be chosen by a team of professional designers, and users could submit new sites to be added as well.

To see how this works, check out www.stumbleupon.com to see how addictive this is.

I thought of this idea when I was...

in the Tokyo airport and was flipping through a Japanese web design magazine. Also, of course, the geniuses at StumbleUpon who created the random-browsing toolbar genre.

I like this idea, there are so many creatively designed sites out there that could encourage other designers. Sadly a lot of them are only seen by end users and customers. There are many designer forums out but none with the functionality of apps like StumleUpon and Yoono. Great Idea!

I like it and would use it. Stumble Upon does allow keyword-based stumbling and I have tried in the past to get site design ideas by using stumle keywords like "web design", "CSS", "site gallery" etc - with varying and generally not too great levels of success.

My only concern about the idea is that it would be all too easy for Stumble Upon to tweak their product to offer such a service as an option.

I agree with Willcom, but on the other hand stumplupon has a horrible userinterface.

Interesting.

It is more random then the yahoo directory. I like the fact the it seems to be organized like youtube.

Need help for anything... just ask.
