The Elevator Pitch

For people who watch videos who want to laugh the Mashup Derby is a application that brings people together in laughter. Unlike Eyespot our product mixes media together to a beat..

The Idea

The Mash-Up is a video that blends together two or more videos into one. We have an innate desire to see what happens when things are mixed together - just watch "Will it Blend?". Take a random video, while your friend selects one, and place them on the collision track. Set the music, then send them zooming together to mash-up! Once the Mash-Up Machine is done mashing you will have a totally random video that switches, on the beat, back and forth between you and your friend's images. Why not invite more people to set their own media on a collision track and make it a derby?



Possible fun mashups could be wedding and graduation videos - where a variety of video and images are mashed to a particular song.

I thought of this idea when I was...

While watching DJ Danger Mouse's 'The Grey Video' and recalling the peals of laughter I had as a youngster turning down the volume on 'The Muppets' and turning up The Pogues.

I can imagine the home page for this application having a constant video mashup happening. Like a movie with no end and no point. Like Twitter with video!

People could upload little pieces of video and tag it with something. You enter a tag in the search bar and end up with a 2 minute wacked out custom film.

Twitter with video might be a good angle to take on this!

Yeah - that is a really fun direction for something like this. It especiially appeals to that totally random experience that can be hilarious. I found Eyespot after thinking of the idea, so any modifications like this are more than welcome.
