Usually companies would put advertising on general media platform such as TV, Newspaper, Magazine, Websites, Outdoor poster, etc. But there is a niche media channels was forgotten that is other companies (except competitors).
Companies need to be a member of Ad Alliance firstly, then each of the member become a Ad unit. After building partnership with Ad Alliance, companies could find out n' select other companies who willing to carry their ads via Ad Alliance website.
To illustrate, KFC, Virgin, Target are joined Ad Alliance, KFC could put its ads on Target's shopping bag or Virgin blue, for trade off , KFC needs to carry Virgin and Target's ads on its outlets and napkins.
The business model is quite simple charge annual member fees from companies, also this idea is easy to implement.
This idea comes out when I saw someone carry a Wal-Mart shopping bag in KFC this evening.
Hi,
I am trying to picture in my mind a Virgin Aeroplane which has a huge sign
on each side that says "Kentucky Fried Chicken" Lol.
I think that this is going to be a tough sell ?
Not necessary on the Virgin fuselage cover, the KFC ads might put on the furnish of Virgin.
BTW, this KFC and Virgin just an example to illustrate what the idea is.
I think more and more compagnies are working together in marketing concepts and doing just that.
What I;m saying: I'm not sure if you'rew too late. Anyway: why pay you if they can do businuess directly?
Tommy
am into advertising...n what u are saying is what is happening right now!
Could work when you doit on products which companies would like to get for free. For example a green grocer will do the stuff in a McDonald Bag. Or plastic coffee cups for free with a name on it. But I agree with vanhees. Why don't they call Mc DOnald directly?
to vanhees, well if company a just have partnership with company b they absolutely not need this service, but how abt partnership with 1000 companies or more it's a huge link between each other.
what u got there not just one partnership it's strong union.
To goosie, for example, like the Alibaba.com which is an China based B2B platform it combine the suppliers and manufactures. As u said why don't they just contact each other directly, the reason is more expensive and not efficient.
2nd, How abt if u not KFC not virgin not named brand how can u build partnership with other companies, also how can u know who willing to carry others ads. but via Ad Alliance..all this become easy and low cost..so why don't they just pay a little money on the annual fees like $500...
I think this idea is kinda already happening, and being in the marketing/advertising field it's extremely lucrative. The problem that usually arises is the "Who pays who" argument.
Secondly, and this is strictly my opinion, I really wish modern day companies would avoid this medium. Next thing you know I'm sitting at a hockey game and the announcer says "This goal was brought to you by Tampax. Even if the opposing team can't make an important save, you can always rely on Tampax making one."
You're looking to set up some infrastructure so you can middle-man it for smaller companies? I think there's too many variables to try tie companies in as partners. If a company has advertising space, easier to just lease it out to someone like Zoom Media, instead of trying to organize an exchange of services.
And since you ARE trying to act as middle-man, and you'll need to take a profit. It sounds like all the complexity of swapping-services, but without the free/cheap-ness.
Subscription business model i guess is weak for this ...why not Community to give way to small players?
The viability of the community model is based on user loyalty. Users have a high investment in both time and emotion. Revenue can be based on the sale of ancillary products and services or voluntary contributions; or revenue may be tied to contextual advertising and subscriptions for premium services. The Internet is inherently suited to community business models and today this is one of the more fertile areas of development, as seen in rise of social networking (which could be a good target market too).
Its going to be difficult to make these companies play nice with each other and I'm not thinking that Ad Alliance would be suitable for the huge enterprises but would be extremely beneficial to the SMB. If Klucky and Virgin want to comarket...they are better off putting their marketing people toe to toe then involving a third party like this.
If I put my "the man" hat on...I would be concerned about this organization being "in the know" about details of my business (and others) that woudl possiblly leak. Its just another level of trust that I would have to maintain and relationship to manage. If we are to get on the brand preservation bandwagon, I doubt that a company would leave it up to this middle tier to link up, broker, suggest co marketing opps when there are already great, reputable well known agencies to do this.
Its a good idea, but I think the target market of the HUGE brand names won't fly...but for those who need the service, networking, brand compatibility matching, intros etc... woudl be the SMB and they would benefit from this greatly.
Just my toonies worth.
They all ready do this in the corporate world. Why the should they pay you?
thanks annievee, ur point is absolutely right this model ll majority focuses on the SMB, why I use KFC as a example above coz I'm from China n' doesn't know the name of SMB companies of USA or Europe.
Why not just use google ads to get eyeballs in different locations?
Why would I not just talk to the company my self? Why would I use your network?
Ccozad this model not for internet ads and it majority focus on offline ads.
Gods_light i guess u never read the comments or the introduction of idea. do some work b4 u leave comment ok??
Why don't u just talk to the company?? ok it's a simple question.. the target company not the giant company, they are smb. and they don't have a big bargain power. 2nd they 'r network is weak, 3rd, the cost is less compare to the company directly find a ad partner.
