The Idea

An internet TV channel written by the masses. Users write news reports, current affairs, soaps and drama and can even produce and star in the productions. This is more than YouTube. It is a collaborative effort to produce internet tv content for a single station which is payed for by advertising and/or subscription. Production costs are minimal but evident: maybe some initial outlay to provide actors for the soaps and props for dramas etc. The masses make TV, and the masses watch it. Internet TV will become popular: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/4459830.stm http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/4382356.stm

I thought of this idea when I was...

Driving to work and listening to the news stating there is a new political Internet TV channel being launched. This made me think of a tv channel where all the content for the channel is derived from the masses, rather than a mass of individual channels written by individuals.
