The Idea

I know the idea is already in place and people are just now coming into the scene as far as organic restaurants, but i want to take it to the next level ''everything'' organic as far as flatware, silverware, furniture, the whole works but im having trouble getting feedback on my idea and want to kno if it is achievable??

I thought of this idea when I was...

I was in a restaurant and the atmosphere was well,''depressing'' poor lighting, loud obnoxious music, horrible food selection and for 2 people i walked out of there spending the norm of anywhere from 45-60 for what they designated as a ''NICE'' restaurant and i want to change things so people can understand what a good dining experience is.

''everything'' organic is difficult but you can go quite far.

http://www.blueegg.com seems to be quite a good resource that I found today.

An all-organic restaurant is a commendable idea and I'm sure you could sell it to people who aren't quite as cheap as I am when it comes to eating out...

I doubt you'll find many people on here who know more about this sort of thing than you'll be able to find in a few Google searches. Start by being clear about what you mean by 'organic' and what you're willing to accept, then try and find out where you might be able to source the non-food essentials you mention. Finally, try to think about exactly what brand image you're trying to convey and how to make your organic ethics clear to customers in a novel and interesting way to make yourself stand out.

Sounds like every organic place I have ever hear of :)...I think you forgot to mention someone playing bongos in or near by the restaurant.

You could always take a tour of all of the organic places in a 100 mile radius, find out what is wrong and right about them and get crackin. Be prepared for low margins and your future resting solely on the fate of the crowd. (Restaurants with good food and ambiance sometimes just don't catch on and ometimes crappy restaurants become a wild success because the right people think they are "cool")

Local colleges and community colleges should have some resources for operating a resturant. Might be some online stuff too. Would be worth checking out if you have never worked in a resturant environment before.
