The Idea

Quite often in electronics time based graphs, and relational graphs such as gate biasing, in relation to the output of mosfets and transistors are need to utilize them effectively. Although, Excel, and several other graph plotting utilities are available, they don't really allow you to plot a point without placing values, or repeating the equations in a spread sheet. In electronics, you compare the current of the base of a transistor to the resulting current of the collector or emitter. So, part of the graph is plotted in milliamperes, and the other part is either milliamperes or amperes. With mosfets, one axis will be volts, and the source or drain current of the device. Excel, and many others don't use steps such as 0.1 milliamperes, and the next step 0.2 milliamperes without filling out those tables, and the step is always in equal increments with electronics graphs, or possibly use the function of log, and the axis's are always in equal steps allowing for automation.

I thought of this idea when I was...

I'm in electronics, and have consistantly had problems finding a graphing utility that didn't make me do allot of repetitious work filling out tables with equations, or didn't allow me to select the right variable to plot a graph with, and or adjust the xy axis, where I always found allot of room for automation, especially in graphing electronics equations for biasing, frequency response, slew rates, and any number of potential conditions or situations that really required some knowledge of where it would be operating at.

Have you used MATLAB? its graphing abilities are great, and I think most of the things you need are supported. Workling for spreadshits is also available there.
