Hello!

You've landed in the archive of the Cambrian House community. We've kept some pages here for posterity but the community is no longer active. Now we market the technology that made our early crowdsourcing a success.

Can we help you get to Cambrian House the company? – Come on over.

Cambrian House

I think web 2.0 and CH are the missing link for ordinary people to contribute meaningfully in the new ways of creating wealth in this so called new economy.
Cycko, Feb 2007

Cambrian House began as a crowdsourcing community using a wisdom of crowds based approach to discover new business and technology ideas. These pages are being kept online as a technology demo to showcase Chaordix™.

Looking to harness the power of your crowd? Find out about Chaordix™ - technology that enables enterprises to get the most out of crowdsourcing.

The Idea

With every new subdivision comes a new Homeowners Association (HOA) in need of a killer organization tool and web presence. The need to market their neighborhood to prospective buyers, keep track of residents, manage collection of HOA fees, create resident face books, community newsletters, and hundreds of other mundane web tasks. HOA-in-a-Box would provide the software for all these tasks. You can also use HOA-in-a-Box to notify community members of emergencies via text message (i.e. suspicious van on Maple Systems Ave or 7-11 is out of Ice Cream). The HOA pays for the application and the hosting, and they handle the content and front-end administration on their own.

I thought of this idea when I was...

I just bought a house in a new development, and I"ve seen how web-unsavvy our HOA board is. Looking around at the 50 or so new subdivisions within 5 miles of my house, I see a lot of $$$ for someone with a scalable web app solution.

This is a great idea - do one thing and do it well. There are loads of HOAs out there, not just in the USA. Unfortunately, a quick Google gets me places like http://www.sodesqa.com/ who are already doing it. They obviously haven't sold it to your HOA tho ;-)

That sodesqa site has nothing to do with HOAs. That's task management software.
