The Idea

Still and video ads are broadcast to a flat screen on a public transit bus which travels across various districts of a city, as the bus crosses a pre-set boundary the nature of the ads changes to reflect local business and other interests in that new district. The system uses GPS to identify where it is at and to change the ad content of the screens. For sophisticated consumers the system could allow for immediate purchase by way of Blackberry or similar device with a delivery or confirmation being sent to the same device. The system could also be used at a stationary location where the ad content could be altered during the day based on demographic and the kind of people passing before the screen.

Have you seen the new advertising done using barcodes and mobile phones? I recommend checking that out.

But I think this idea has merit. But COST. Not only was the bus in an accident, but it's plasma screen display was shattered as well :(
