The Idea

An netizen community for the real world. For citizens of a particular city/locale who wish to make a positive change in their dwellings. - an online community where citizens can discuss issues that affect their cities/locales - where they can discuss which issues matter the most and need to be dealt with - an idea vault, where suggestions can be submitted to make things better. and a selection process is meted, just like CH =) - connect volunteers with volunteer organizations - where polls can be conducted --security-- - Citizens use a token assigned to them upon initial sign on. Initial sign in would require the use of an i.d/sin card. which is a one time process. Then the token information is simply used for login (encrypted+cloaked). Cloaked in the sense that the user should then setup a username. Which could be anything. Doing such would: i- protect the identity of the user ii- track/ban flamer

I thought of this idea when I was...

we wake up to find that a new mayor is elected. and then the mayor along with the councillors make the decisions that shape our cities/locale. Smart people with bright ideas should be given an outlet to express their ideas and opinions and make a positive change to their environment.

More and more communities are being set-up online now. Its just that it needs a one-stop portal to give it a thrust forward.

You idea might work. Less appealing on how revenue is achieved though. Care to elaborate more..?

For once I wasn't thinking of making money with this idea

It's just with our increasingly digitized lives, governments must give a online outlet for citizens to let their voices be heard. Rational voices and voices that demand accountability.

you elect someone. 1 yr later they forget everything and the very notion that they are there to "serve us" and then we are stuck with them for 4 yrs.
