The Idea

A home (or soho) monitoring web service. I purchase some wi-fi web cams and install the cameras in areas I wish to monitor (backyard, garage, etc). CH hosts ZoneMinder (www.zoneminder.com), or similar software in a partitioned environment. My account"s monthly fees give me access to my web cameras and other security features provided by zoneminder (ie: motion detection). If a zone is breeched, the I am notified and video/snapshots recording the incident are available.

I thought of this idea when I was...

Disgusted after adding up the costs for home monitoring from companies like alarmforce, adt, etc. I wanted to run a homebrew system (zoneminder), but really don"t want to have another server buzzing away in my closet... I"d happily pay for something hosted.
