The Idea

A online Real Estate/Realtor portal, which will provide prospective buys all details on the property along with a 3D walk-thru, providing the buyer a real time view and experience of the property he plans to acquire.

Two type of users a) Sellers, b) Buyers

a) Sellers: Will subscribe and place the AD on the site along with panoramic-photographs of the property they plan to sell along with price and other intricate details

b) Buyer: Will subscribe to the portal and review the property they would like to acquire along with a 3D walk-thru experience.

Business: Charge Sellers a subscrption fee + a percentage of sales of their property. Charge the buyer a subscription fee + a percentage on the purchased property as a service fee.

I thought of this idea when I was...

Came across many Real Estate/Realtor sites but these sites do not provide a 3-Dimensional walk-thru of the property that are for sale. Gives the buyer a look and feel of the property even before he gets to check it physically.

kind of like HGTV's website when they do dream house and they give you a 3D tour, that is really cool. it might be a good idea for real estate agencies if it's not too costly

might work. I know that something similar is available to see hotel/cruise ship rooms, so why not.

does Yahoo or something offer something like this? I know you can see photos from houses for sale and there are "virtual walk-throughs" but I don't know if your idea is the same as one of those.

Thanks for your comment imogene2004

The HGTV site mostly allows you to design a home rather than see a home on a real estate portal with a 3D walk-thru. I'm looking at someone who could help me setup such a kinda project.

The cheapest and shortest way, I think, could use something like second life, just placing your buildings/houses there.
The realtor's office could have a big screen connected to a computer and Second Life installed.
Clients would be able to walk thru an image almost in real size.
Another option could be a 3D engine like Unity3D, used mostly for games, but I guess that nobody cares what is behind the scenes, right?

I've seen this many times. I believe a lot of top flight realtors already offer this.

I think kennybeck is right. Some realtor sites have it some don't. Some smaller towns/offices may go for your product. And what about for rental sites? They might buy the product rather than having to develop it themselves. But then you'd have competition.

its a cool idea, where i am from the Caribbean, you don't get that type of services... so it depends on where your market is, for your idea to work successfully. i pretty much would go for it because of how technology is growing it would help real estate companies adopt to the fast growth of today's technology.

What if there were some parts of the real estate the agent or seller doesn't want the buyer to see and doesn't film it or make it into 3D?
