The Idea

Everyone hates managing the collection of payments for a group gift. Why not automate this with an onling group gift manager for all your retirement, wedding, baby shower, birthday, etc parties? Someone would go online and have the choice of choosing a group gift from our list of vendors or put a description and picture of the gift they would like to purchase. They would then enter a list of email addresses of people that might want to contribute to the group gift. An email would be sent to each person with a link to contribute to the group gift online(these invitations could be evites to the "party" as well) After the money has accumulated, the group gift manager can either purchase the item with that money and have it shipped or they can have the money transferred to their PayPal account. Revenue streams: Affiliate programs with product vendors Small portion of transaction charge Premium package to manage party Sell Prezzle Group eCards can be made, printed, mailed or a web page

I thought of this idea when I was...

At work we've been doing a number of group gifts for people and I feel bad for this one lady who has to go and nag people for money. Plus, I never carry cash and so I wish I could contribute electronically.

Thanks. I knew about fundable, but that is way to fundraiser oriented and not group gift. ChipIn is what's described here. I guess ChipIn needs to advertise better.
