The Elevator Pitch

For every one who cant fold & make a carefully stack shirts/clothes on their trips the TEEWRAPZ is a perfect SHIRT organizer inside a travelling bag that uniquely solves the problem of the traveller and train them eventually. Unlike other regular bags with just devil may care stacking belt to hold our product makes the difference as if you have just purchased a new shirt inside its original plastic wrapper. It has a scent releasing refillable pouch and now comes with 3way foldable clothes hanger!.

The Idea

A shirt wrapper w/ a body of a flexible material having a cartoon/vinyl/plastic fillers and a pair of end flaps that fold up from the sleeve part way over the top of a stack of shirts. A first rectangular side flap folds up along one side and entirely over the top of the stack of shirts. A second side flap folds up along the other side and at least partway over the top of the stack of shirts. A bottom pocket in the base receives a bottom stiffener sheet. A top stiffener sheet of substantially the same size as the bottom stiffener sheet is received in a pocket in the first side flap. A velcro/belt joins the side flaps in folded condition over the stack of well folded shirts. It also comes with free t3fold* innovative clothes hanger.

we'll update you guys...me and my family are debating on the plus and minuses of my "prototype" details... might just end up evaluating on my fiance's opinion before the cooks spoiled the broth... but he is arguing that this tee wrapz should be on the regular traveling rectangular wheeled suitcase now than the bygone Mr.bean;s "attache case" c",)

-other solution so far I know is a HOLDING belt inside the suitcase
-wife's neat and tack pre-departure fold arrangement...
-bring handy iron
-or bring extra money for the ironing services

Ms.Joyce..is the bag included or seperately purchase?

joyce
joyce Posted: October 16, 2007, 10:58 am

Well, it can be purchased together with the bag. Its unique feature is that it's refillable. So, this TeeWrapz can help organize your things and thus, lessen the burden of seeing your messy crumpled shirts!

true_daniel
true_daniel Posted: October 16, 2007, 12:46 pm

The visual need to be zoomed but i can see enough brilliance already. However, would this fit to other size of bags? Does it comes with other sizes and extra organizer such as toiletrees and my fav extra shoes?

Also, is this up for patent? Showing everything up here will surely inspire copycats and Chineese product mill (no offense).

I'll vote for this and waiting for early discount.

joyce
joyce Posted: October 16, 2007, 1:38 pm

yes..we submit this for regional patent right now. .though i have a ready local shop to work on prototype, We're looking for a manufacturer right now to compliment a world class bag to carry this great idea.
But i need to get some more comments from the crowd to refined and see how a global community can make this better.

joyce
joyce Posted: October 16, 2007, 1:41 pm

@ a regional patent office i mean.
God forbids we might even get some rewards/grants if the panel will support this all the way.

But first your vote would help! ;-)

Check this out: http://www.flipfold.com/
Flip and Fold has been around for a while. I guess great minds think a like because they fold the same way. They have been around for like 30 years. They have just developed a new product called the Flip and Trip : http://www.flipfold.com/flipntrip.htm it may be something to look at.

joyce
joyce Posted: October 17, 2007, 12:33 pm

thanks for the site 30 yrs was a big difference GL.

just stumbled... folding is not the meat content...just one of the feature...its the "reverse slip-on"...we got the paper board and refills...
...hmmmm...and am not proposing it on the drawer...ours was designed for bag & luggages(at the moment)....fyi

Brenden
Brenden Posted: October 17, 2007, 6:17 pm

FYI I did know your idea was more then just the folder thing. I agree with Saigon, how am I going to fold my dirty clothing?

What about a lot of clothing?

I do not know if I understand your idea, its a flat mat that you put your clothing on. Then you fold it up, which folds your clothing as well into a bag.

if thats the idea where do i put belts, suits, pants, and other objects that do not fold as easy as a T-Shirt?

Good luck

I have seen this before on an infomercial. Been Done.

joyce
joyce Posted: October 17, 2007, 11:15 pm

@saigon, GL: dirty clothes/shirts are no problem they can be stacked too- hold your fear guys- new approved features we decided is an odorizer/scent button inside the folding upper body folding materials (ala glade squeeze)...one squeeze could last months..therefore your clothes smells new/fresh dirty or not.

We're open to evolved the idea from more demanded request such one for pant(!)- u lazy spoiled bratz-

But...we have to start somewhere or one product at a time. Such as the site GL -spcl tnx- >hugz< pointed out which i believed developed the rest of their other lines through the years.

For now the shirt is the first item in the agenda.

Keep the comments coming!

Make a prototype. (make it out of cardboard if you have to). It only has to last for one use.

Film yourself using it.
Post the video on youtube.

Then post the Utube link here.

Only then will we be able to understand how cool your idea is.

siddey
siddey Posted: October 18, 2007, 8:44 pm

Are you targeting the anally retentive partners/wives out there or the lazy husbands with this product?

I can picture a bunch of really disappointed Dad's on father's day receiving this as a gift. Will lazy packers really use this?

If not, then won't it just revert back to the partner/wife, who in this case you're making out as already being the resident packing guru (which is true in my wife's instance)? My wife wouldn't need this.

Personally this is my favourite way of packing a t-shirt.

ogama
ogama Posted: October 18, 2007, 10:05 pm

lol @ siddey... seriously there are some 3fold shirt instruction around and various existing similar "tool". This one seems a new variation.

-its handcarry and attached/detachable with in the bag/luggage
-it would give less worry on shirt sorting and on owner's return
-the scent feature is like extending extra loving care
-the cardboard insertion gives a sturdy and neat stacking
-the refill gives extra option for any size of bag to carry (25-75 kilogram)
-the size give extra room for other personal effects(pants/shoes/et al)

i would buy this as a gift for my male counterpart.

PS. Perhaps a commercial of "how to" would help convincing more lazy sexist & egoist couch potatoes har har har.

If you want to share higher resolution images, try uploading to Flickr.com (or any free image hosting service) and share the link. I'd like to see what you've already created, but in higher resolution.

I can't speak to the idea itself since when I do travel, I make a point of wrinkling all my clothes, so as not to appear wealthy and be kidnapped for ransom. Not shaving, shouting obscenities and gesturing wildly helps too.

One big concern with TeeWrapz : The marketing of YOUR shirt organizer will be up against the marketing of all OTHER ALREADY EXISTING shirt organizers.

Yours might be better and cheaper, but if the competition has infomercials...

To me, this is like pitching an idea for a better mouse trap. Might be a freaking awesome mousetrap, but in the Cambrian House universe, its hard to collaborate around (except for marketing).

joyce
joyce Posted: October 19, 2007, 10:46 am

Thanks but no thanks GM... for the anti kidnapping posture- stare- c".)

Am not targeting yet the global community and get a pie on the inter diplomatic product quota my country's economic agreement in the land of milk & honey =)

So far it surprises me i don't see any competition in my archipelago i am in. So taking the next step of manufacturing this or simply sell the idea to established brand carriers seems a possible dilemma than an option. Ironically its the market size and stakeholders thats seems to be my immediate concern. My partner believes the product would not be for regular Tom, Dick & Harry but only tailored made for higher strata of learned individuals (lazy men rules). Which means either i bet in time consuming "Market education" or ship this in the Western hemisphere.

@CG_eol, Josielyn: expect my emails and my flexible MOA with you.

@Siddey: I first thought of targeting the yuppies...seeing them in the airport/terminal/port i cant help but raise my eyebrows in accidental peep on some checkpoints luggage horrors =) (ladies included) but admittedly my BF's travelling suitcase ticked me to give a solution.

Entreprenew

saigon
saigon Posted: October 21, 2007, 10:44 am

joyce:

I admire how crowdsouring works in this idea. Entreprenew is right and other who even suggest the timing of sales. While identifying your target market and avenue is good... you got to be ready on the real bumps on the road..if you dont have the actual experience in Marketing other than theory and practical business sense. I think merchandising -where magic begins =)-tips below based on my 14 years of marketing experience (and expert opinion too) would help:

When arranging your store for the sale event, pay attention to details:

* For the duration of your sale, watch for slow-moving categories(if you'll have other product line (as suggested).
* Change the displays and take immediate markdowns if there seems to be little interest in a particular area.
* All merchandise must be made accessible for the customers to see, touch, and smell if necessary. Items behind the counter are difficult to sell (this is your advantage).
* Arrange your merchandise by size(the bags display would help) and categories. It is important that customers can easily find their size without wasting time.
* Don't make customers play the stupid retail game "find the price" on each and every sales tag. Similarly, don't have two or three price tags wrapped together showing different prices.

Throughout the sale it is important that customers do not think the "best" items have already been sold. All racks and display fixtures must always appear to be as full as possible. Put any empty racks into storage areas.

Be creative. The greater the hype and selection, the more customers will pay for your goods. Keep moving stock toward the front (warning: space is expensive) to make it more convenient for customers to buy. Be colorful (good logo retouch) visual attraction sells.

Dont under estimate the power of other valuable medium of sales such as advertisement (all media: print, radio&television+internet, including directmails).

Finally, you should never hesitate to hire a professional for any of yourbusiness needs.

GODSPEED!

Gordon said "To me, this is like pitching an idea for a better mouse trap. Might be a freaking awesome mousetrap, but in the Cambrian House universe, its hard to collaborate around (except for marketing)."

Here in Portland we have a company called Nike. They have only about 3400 employees, almost all of whom are in marketing, design and administration. They don't do physical production, but it is still a very real company. In the CH universe we could run a Nike. Marketing, design and administration can all be done over the web.

Hi everyone,

great comments!

My apology for this late reply...i was on a sick bay for over 2 days now...though i was able to post something on a borrowed laptop (how i wish GL's hospital connection was present last night)
I didn't notice the barrage of comments flooding lately. =)

so here's the latest:

-we're ready to make the ads/ for more visual appreciation in the next few days.
-were seriously adding new product (patent application's being prepared) to compliment teewrapz*- its an "innovative" clothes hanger tentatively named: t3fold* (note* both names seems not yet taken):a hanger made of either plastic, alloy,or wood materials can be unfolded into three different shapes as travel companion.
-we're still debating the price tag to come below $40(bag/teerwapz+5pcs of t3fold)
-t3fold visual drawing cant be shared at the moment to protect from idea piracy.
-we are building a website (another possible new idea) to host our product line (traveling accessories)with unique concept and business model.
-am collaborating to many other brilliant minds from CH and beautiful minds alike...Saigon's extra effort is worth of consideration since his PERSPECTIVEeXCHANGE domain is not yet taken (thanks Gord for the reminder on domain registration).

Keep the comments coming, i valued the criticism in same weight with positive undertone.

-Joyce

PS. were not bootstrapping startup... we're google success wannabees in intersperse genre ;-)

Joyce,

Am intrigued with your latest addition on this seemingly evolving product- shirt organizer plus folding hanger. (the market is really huge for clothes hanger:imagine China& India alone)
Hope you could let us take a good view in the coming days now that you will have time improving it in preparation to possible immediate orders(?) or TOC. Yes i agree a website to carry all your product line would be a perfect preparation in the future and a very good investment in protecting your trademark and business in general.

Congratulations in hurdling this week round. Am glad invention or physical products are able to pass through the approval of the community.
