The Idea

Are you a gamer? Have you ever noticed that there is a lack of good tournaments to enter? Enter the Game Challenge Zone (name pending). The Zone is a place that hosts weekly and daily game tournaments for various levels of gamers to compete and win prizes. Although the idea was initially thought of for Xbox Live, can be translated to other services. Daily tournament winners win smaller prizes, like Microsoft points or lower costing accessories. Weekly prize winners may win games, higher costing accessories, or Xbox Live Gold Subscriptions. Monthly prize winners may win game and accessory packages. Quarterly and annual prizes may include HDTVs, and other larger prizes. Tournament costs vary depending on type of tournament entered (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually), or monthly subscriptions can be purchased that gives subscribers a certain amount of points per month to spend on tournaments (each type of tournament is allocated a certain point cost).

I thought of this idea when I was...

I get emails from Gamespot about tournaments to enter, which only subscribers to Gamespot can enter. These tournaments usually only occur every couple of months, have a limited amount of people that can enter, and usually those who enter are elite players who have hundreds of hours under their belt. Xbox itself doesn"t offer tournaments very often either. I then thought it would be cool to provide a service where casual players can enter and have a decent chance at winning a prize, even if something small, then maybe build up their skills to compete in a larger tournament. Also, this service could provide flexibility in having more choices of tournaments to enter.

I made a mistake, I usually only get invites every couple of months, but for some strange reason I received 2 in the last 2 weeks. Maybe they browsed my idea :8.
