The Idea
PostIt stickers on the top of medicine or pill containers to remind you when you took your last dose.
The top could have AM, MidDay, PM, etc. around the top. Just use one of the those PostIt "sign here" arrows to point to when you LAST TOOK the medicine.

You can buy medicine boxes who do just that, some even have an alarm to remind you when to take your pills. Your idea is cheaper though ;-)

Contraceptive pills come in a labeled packet for this purpose. I didn't get pregnant. Never did she.

Nice idea!
It is only important if taking your meds at the right time is important. After taking them for months or years, it is pretty tough to remember if you took them this morning, or yesterday morning.
Forget the sign here...just rip off a postit every time you take a med... (less effort).
If you dont have your Caregiver yet... a reminder to use the post it from your Cellphone organizer would do =)
