Each month PROJECTGREEN.COM promotes a simple "green step" that individuals, families or companies can take to improve the environment. Examples include: no junk mail sticker on post-box, switching to hessian shopping bags, riding a bike. By uploading a photo of you engaging in the "green step" you score 1 point for your country/ community/ workplace/state. Real-time statistics on projectgreen.com show1) the number "green steps" taken that month 2) the predicted environmental benefits from these green-steps and 3) comparisons between countries, companies, families etc. Projectgreen is about making positive changes a little more exciting by adding the spice of competition. Companies/ states/ families can compete to see who can take the most "green steps". Revenue Streams * Merchandise (promote projectgreen on a t-shirt) * Books - profile some of the best competitions or best "green step" efforts * Donations * More described below
Walking down the street looking at the junk mail hanging out of the post-boxes. Additional Points: 1) One task per month gives plenty of time for people to take part and competitions to be formed. It also takes the pressure off having to make drastic changes all at once (baby steps = green steps). Projectgreen could provide basic branded merchandise for each task. 2) Competition and real-time stats give you a sense you are really working towards something. 3) Green steps are great activities to do with children. Projectgreen could provide free graphics for printing to stickers to help promote the site 4) Site includes advertising but it is green focused, i.e., companies who conduct their business in environmentally sound ways. Also advertising for things like solar hot water, biodegradable products. 5) Schools, businesses and individuals can be profiled for their environmental work
