The Idea

Crooked Congress will devote resources to investigating suspicous activity by Congressmen and Senators. As an investigative website, Crooked Congress will collect and cypher through tips, rumours, and news articles to compile strictly factual informative reports on elected officials who misuse federal resources, or other such scandals. Crooked Congress will be the new age "check and balance" in the fairness of modern politics. Crooked Congress will earn money through ad revenue and subscriptions allowing customers to access limited features.

I thought of this idea when I was...

I thought of this business after the Larry Craig story came out recently. One major "bust" of a politician, local or federal, will be enourmas publiciity for the website. One major bust is a realistic goal for the first 3 months of operation. I have researched this aspect of politics for years.

Hm, I would think there's already so many people expending so much energy and resources trying to make these kinds of 'discoveries' that it would actually be fairly difficult. But I guess that's what the power of crowdsourcing is all about!

Not sure if this will help, but Larry Craig is one of the most viewed Senators currently!

Sucks.
Invest your time in looking for GOOD people instead of investing time in crooked politicians.
Don't like these negative vibes!

Sure sounds like a great idea and I really would like see such a venture succeed but ... it's a waste of time really. The best-intentioned soul in the world soon succumbs to the pressures of political life. In any case, did you see where that student got tazed at the John Kerry do? WTF? You better be careful justen! LOL

Politicians also crowdsource among themselves. They play us for fools man. If you ever do get one - chances are they were hung out to dry by the rest of them mate :o) i.e. that they used you and your company. It's a mean and nasty world politics.

Final thought: if ya wanna beat them ya gotta join them.

Al.

Nice niche! I think this would work. Just be careful on the legal aspects of this.

I agree with Vanhees, look for the good in people and expect good - they will be good.
