The Idea

Ever wondered where to submit your non-software inventions for royalties? Imagine a cambrianhouse.com that's a business incubator community of inventors/entrepreneurs, angel investors, marketing gurus, lawyers, etc. It would work very much like Cambrian House does but would welcome NON-software ideas. Myself included, I can think of many people who have amazing ideas but don't necessarily have the time to develop them or know where to start, where to go, who to trust, or where to get the $$ for startup. This community would allow inventors/entrepreneurs to post all of their ideas for a community vote and then introduce the accepted inventions to the legal, marketing, money people it takes to get them to market while giving the inventor (and all involved in the community) royalties. Ideas that mature to market could be sold or held by the "Cambrian House"-type parent company.

I thought of this idea when I was...

Cambrian House, DUH!

I think this is great,
I already submitted 2 ideas that were more hardware based and they got rejected. I did not understand that Cambrian House wanted to work with exclusively software projects at first.

I was thinking the same thing about physical products. Although there are already inventor communities and forums out there in the net, I think one closer to CH would be sweet. I have a suggestion for startup money. Perhaps the startup funds could come from the community itself. Sure this might sound hard because of how can you get money from users before you have built the community, but you have CH users to help out. :) I would like to talk to you about this once they enable IMing.

Yep - this is needed alright. I think cambrian is testament to the number of people out there with ideas! I too had an idea rejected cause it wasnt specifically software related.

Take a look at my recently submitted inventors funding idea. Could work well with this, being an inventor myself i know funding is always an issue!
