Now i'm not sure if this is already around, but i got this idea just after i found about this website cambrian house. I wondered, if Cambrian House is the only website that provides this kind of service...
So the idea is this: it is sort of like a search engine (google) but you can type in a website URL, (myspace.com) and when you press enter, the results would be a list of websites (possibly order of relevence) that shows other websites that provide the same service (i.e. results would be such as facebook.com, etc (other social networking sites, not many are coming to me at this time)). Or another example would be youtube.com ---results---> livevideo.com, veoh.com, flicklife.com, etc.
Basically it finds "similar" websites.
I kind of described my inspiration already: it is because i was wondering if cambrian house was the only crowdsourcing website of its type.

See for yourself.

I checked that site out, and it may be just me but it doesn't seem that intuitive. Or maybe i'm just searching for something different: i'm thinking that there could be a service where i type in myspace.com and i'll get facebook.com and hi5 as a result. Or i could type in eHarmony and get Match.com. In stumbleup.com, there is no way i can find websites that provide very similar services. Instead, in stumbleup, i can search only by categories (humor, science, movies, etc.). If you type in something like "online-dating" in the search bar, often times you get news articles that only talk about the news regarding online-dating sites, rather than getting a list of of all the online-dating sites.
True, you can probably just go to google and type in "online-dating" in the search, but i believe my idea is different, especially when you are searching for a more specific website service (only example i can give is cambrianhouse.com but in the situation where the term "crowdsourcing" was not
oops-i pressed submit on accident
*if crowdsourcing was not a known term.
i hope this makes sense. I'm now 2nd guessing myself.
Try Google Keywords
it sounds like a good idea maybe google would take it up?
http://www.dexly.com/ perhaps? or http://www.go2web20.net/ is pretty good.
Got something to say?
