The Idea

A global student travel enterprise. Students inspiring students. Because college students shape thought, trends and 'tudes; because they have international power beyond their understanding; I want to give them, no pun, the world. I believe in the power of the world, in the power of culture; what it can teach and how it empowers people, at any age, to learn from life. Here's the breakdown: XploreU WILL become the student place for free stuff, information, mates, lovers, clothes, music, fame, education and experience. XploreU is currently a social network but WILL expand into every facet of media, entertainment and education. XploreU will subtly (and blatantly) educate students about the world, ex: while a student is flirting with their online XploreU Indonesian hottie, that student will learn that Indonesia has the highest Muslim population in the world. And so, this student travel enterprise, XploreU, will simultaneously provide, teach and empower the worlds' next leaders.

I thought of this idea when I was...

My father is a botanist. He leads expeditions in rainforests, often where no westerner has ever traveled or researched. When I was 16, I went on my fourth expedition, to Indonesia. While in a tiny village, 3 days from the closest city, it hit me... I realized more students needed to have this kind of experience, more students needed to realize and appreciate the beauty of culture. I learned then, at 16, that travel teaches you to be open minded, fearless, confident and most importantly, grateful. And so XploreU has been created to introduce students to culture, and help separate them from their imaginary safety bubble. XploreU was created to challenge the ethnocentrism built into the American soul.

Good Idea. I know this will work if you work on this. I would like to see you put some "Explore the world stuff in your site". Like have a theme like that. If you could do me a favor put some stuff about how to save the animals and creatures, Just if you can :-).

it's all a process... i would LOOOOVE to put all that you suggest on the site. great suggestions! we are going to push this next phase of the site but after that i am devoting several months to focusing on outling key information for areas all over the world.
