Face it; a lot of politicians get their power with some dirty tricks up their sleeves. This gave me an idea. If you have ever played the game Dopewars (Drugwars), it is a classic text game about the drug market that is still popular 10 years later. So, based on the success of Dopewars and other text games, I want to design a cheap, casual strategy game about politics that would have the same appeal that Dopewars did. When the game starts, each player starts on a big graphical city map together with over city view (kind of like Sim City). Their character is a wealthy politician who wants to win the race for mayor (or whatever). They will then strategically spend funds and command their goons to attempt to take the city over and be elected mayor. You will do this through fear, manipulation, etc. The strategy in this game would be similar to dopewars, but more fun and unique. This game would be unique, fun, and would catch a niche market. Would be cheap to develop as well.
Dopewars, US politics, other popular text games, and hearing about how dictators come into power.
It is said that "The Public get the newspapers, television programmes and Politicians that they deserve".
Generally, the public seem to deserve very little and usually get it!
It would be fun to be the worst kind of politician in this game and see how many people deserve me!
