Cambrian House

Cambrian House is a very interesting idea - crowdsourced software. Their goal is to leverage the wisdom of crowds to both receive as well as filter business ideas, code and creative content.
Ken Yarmosh, Jul 2006

Cambrian House began as a crowdsourcing community using a wisdom of crowds based approach to discover new business and technology ideas. These pages are being kept online as a technology demo to showcase Chaordix™.

The Idea

Prosper.com is a great Idea for people to people loans and fundable.org is a great way to organize fund raisers but what about a service that enables entrepreneurs to raise seed capital for high tech start ups from lots of micro investors? Raising capital from Banks, friends and family, angel investors and venture capitalists is fine but there is still a HUGE market gap for early stage venture funding. There are a small investors that would love to have a piece of the higher risk/higher return action on an exciting new high tech business start up! A new venture could quickly generate $10,000 to $1,000,000 from hundreds or thousands of people who each loan anywhere from $100 to $2,500 on a new project. Security law issues could be avoided in several ways using creative compensation models. I would suggest the possibility of a quasi-royalty financing model based on future sales revenue. I thought of this idea when I was...

I am currently trying to use prosper.com to fund my own startup ( http://www.specialof...g/ordergiftcards.htm ) and I want to pay marketing royalties on top of a reasonable interest rate to those who loan me money, but the Prosper model is to rigid and not really created with the new venture capital model in mind....

Don't know why this idea didn't get more attention... it is a good idea with just the right flavour and i love the Royalty financing model suggested.

I am voting it up

Just read this idea with much interest. I think it has potential and with a focus on some sort of clear model could work well.
