Introducing Royalty Points

At Cambrian House, you can use Royalty Points to compensate contributors for as long as their work drives profit.

A Royalty is the sum of money paid by a Business to a contributor in exchange for the right to use their intellectual property.

eg: In book publishing, authors are commonly paid both a fee for their services and a royalty rate that entitles them to a percentage of their books' profits.

How does it work?

Each Business starts with 1500 Royalty Points. When you submit an idea, you automatically own all Royalty Points. As the idea submitter and Business Champion, you can assign Royalty Points to community members as compensation for completing jobs for your idea.

Assign jobs different point values depending on their complexity, balanced against the current life cycle and potential profit of the finished project. The whole idea is to tie productivity to reward.

If a product matures through several releases, additional Royalty Points may be assigned to represent new functionality.

How much could I earn?
