You've landed in the archive of the Cambrian House community. We've kept some pages here for posterity but the community is no longer active. Now we market the technology that made our early crowdsourcing a success.

Mistakes will be made. But if a person is essentially right, the mistakes he or she makes are not as serious in the long run as the mistakes management will make if it undertakes to tell those in authority exactly how they must do their jobs.William McKnight, 3M
Cambrian House began as a crowdsourcing community using a wisdom of crowds based approach to discover new business and technology ideas. These pages are being kept online as a technology demo to showcase Chaordix™.
Looking to harness the power of your crowd? Find out about Chaordix™ - technology that enables enterprises to get the most out of crowdsourcing.

Contest Ended July 31st The Weigh our Goat contest was an experiment to see how accurately a crowd could guess the weight of a goat. 31 days and over 1000 guesses later - the crowd determined the weight of the goat to be 39.8lbs.
The actual weight of our goat was 38.5lbs. Coincidence? We think not. This was just a small experiment to show you the power of a crowd. (So perhaps there's more wisdom in a collective group then an individual. Ya think?)
A Success!
Thank goodness our experiment was a success, since our business model depends on it. And since the average of all guesses was within 2lbs of the actual weight, we have donated a goat as promised.
A big thank you to all who participated. Click here to view the list of winners and prizes.
Was there a point to this contest - or are you guys just weird?
We couldn't resist having a little fun in the office but yes there is a point. Watch our video to find out more.

Why donate a goat?
As part of our Cambrian House Foundation we’re committed to the community. This is our way to generate a little karma. Goat's milk is the only milk known to half the world's people, but 80 percent of mothers and children in rural areas do not have any type of milk or milk products. The gift of a dairy goat is a lasting, meaningful way to help a struggling family on the other side of the world. (http://www.heifer.org.)
