Hello!

You've landed in the archive of the Cambrian House community. We've kept some pages here for posterity but the community is no longer active. Now we market the technology that made our early crowdsourcing a success.

Can we help you get to Cambrian House the company? – Come on over.

Are you seeking crowdsourcing technology? – Check out Chaordix by Cambrian House.

Cambrian House

I think web 2.0 and CH are the missing link for ordinary people to contribute meaningfully in the new ways of creating wealth in this so called new economy.
Cycko, Feb 2007

Cambrian House began as a crowdsourcing community using a wisdom of crowds based approach to discover new business and technology ideas. These pages are being kept online as a technology demo to showcase Chaordix™.

Looking to harness the power of your crowd? Find out about Chaordix™ - technology that enables enterprises to get the most out of crowdsourcing.

You should be ashamed of yourselves for not making this easy to find and simple.

Most websites are having a certain -file- system in which you can't just delete accounts because then all you're comments, etc. will also be deleted and then I'm talking to myself here.

Just send an e-mail (it looks like they changed to contact page a bit, so I can't find the right adres at the moment) and ask them to delete/'ban' your account.

Looks its one of saigon "Firends"
What dose an attack like that solve? dose it make people want to help you out? Think of your tone next time.
Your account will be deleted in a month or so when CH closes down. What do you care anyways?

Just a follow up on this, I did disabled this fellow's account on June 26. (When he emailed in the request, 2 days after posting this thread which I didn't read).

I set his ideas to private (I don't think he knew how to do that.)

If you guys have privacy concerns about your ideas on CH, one option is to set your ideas to private on CH as you migrate to VenCorps. You can set your ideas to private on CH either before or after migrating. (There is no need to, but I understand why someone might want to.)

And the other trick, if you want to stop emails alerting you to PMs, is to go into preferences...

http://www.cambrianh...file/my-preferences/

...and configure your CH account not to send you any emails.

So its quite possible to dial down your CH presence if you choose to do so without being all hey-delete-me about it.

FWIW, I am sick of sites not allowing me to delete my account, also.

I think the underlying motivation is to appear to have more users than they actually have. After all, if 10k people sign up and 9k of them hate the site, there's no way for the press to know that if nobody can delete their accounts.

It's got nothing to do with technological limitations, as comments etc. can easily be linked either to "dummy" accounts or killed and replaced with a placeholder (see LiveJournal).
