Cambrian House

Crowdsourcing represents the act of a company or institution taking a function once performed by employees and outsourcing it to an undefined (and generally large) network of people in the form of an open call.
Jeff Howe, Jun 2006

Cambrian House began as a crowdsourcing community using a wisdom of crowds based approach to discover new business and technology ideas. These pages are being kept online as a technology demo to showcase Chaordix™.

Looking to harness the power of your crowd? Find out about Chaordix™ - technology that enables enterprises to get the most out of crowdsourcing.

It seems to me that VenCorps model should allow facilitators the opportunity to capitalize on the startup process inasmuch as the founders and funders. One way to do that is to allow them to offer services to the other two groups in conceptual and execution-related matters.

For example, a founder can seek expert advice on marketing as the idea evolves. On the funder end, architectural specifications, estimates, project management, may be needed as extra services.

Thankfully, VenCorps is about products/service that are digitally distributed -- I think this is one of their best decisions. I am, of course, very much biased Happy

What kind of service types would be needed? What kind can you offer?

Hey Ooper, I'll point this thread out to Will. It may be he'd prefer such dialog to take place within the confines of VenCorps, but I know there's no direct correlation to forums at present so he may have to specify a place for such discussions.

I certainly don't mind them taking place here, but its probably what VenCorps had in mind during the transition period.

Exactly.

Besides, the ration between the CH and VenCorps community is in the thousands to one...Happy

Just thought I'd get a feel for the potential of this.

I second this. By locally and rather informally (as a consultant) doing such facilitation (here, in France), I know that this approach proves efficient for all parties.

I wouldn't worry about "missing" features. Vencorps is in a very early alpha stage, and the site will continue to grow and expand.

I agree, you are probably to have to give them some time to add-on more things and also iron out some things in the existing system first. I would expect a lot of the features are in the works still.
