Hello everyone! Berryit.com is now online and we're looking for a few testers. The site is in its infancy so please excuse the look and feel. Pavel has been working hard to get the Firefox extension working. So, check it out, Berry a few sites and let us know how we could improve.

Right now what happens once you download and install the toolbar for Firefox is you will be able to join a group. When you join the group you can then Berry a site by clicking the Berryit toolbar icon on the toolbar and make a comment. The next time you do a search you will see a berryit icon (a small strawberry) beside the search result in Google that tells you that site has been berried. Others who have joined that group will see the same icon in their search result.

We're still debating what to do next but so far it works pretty well.

Thanks for the help.

I joined the website, it looks good; all I want now is an Opera plug-in...

One thing I want to ask about: How to Berry sites whitout the Add-on?

(Is it possible at all? It doesn't look like it...)

P.S. The Add-on isn't working for me [FireFox 3.0.1]

Jay,

I'm running Firefox 2.0.0.16 and its not working for me.

What's your personal browser / OS set up?

And there's no general forum for discussion of BerryIt itself on your site (as opposed to the specific groups). So let us know if this CH thread is where you want us to be figuring this out.

For sure, once you've identified what versions of Firefox it works with, document it on your site so not everyone is trying to install it on Firefox 3 (if that's why its not working for some).

And it looks like the toolbar takes up a whole horizontal stretch across the screen. Is it me arranging stuff wrong? Can I make it move to the right or left of an already existing toolbar so I don't waste my precious vertical space?

Good to see this moving forward, wonder what will happen once you start building a meaty DB of bad site info.

Hello Gordon,

I use 3.0.1. We are working on a 2.0 version also. Sorry, that's something we need to put on the site.

As to the location of the toolbar, we need to be able to move it. Mine does the same thing (horizontal bar). I'll put that on the to do list.

Berrying sites without a toolbar? It is possible to do that and we could implement it, but you only get the benefit of seeing the Berryit icon (berried sites) when you have the toolbar installed.

I'm working on some better copy for the site to better explain what its all about. I'm torn between going after the techies that want a cleaner web and the rebels who would want to join forces to Berry the Exxon Corp's website out of existence. Maybe the two could co-habitate.

Thanks for the input, if its ok I'll post here with updates. I know there are a lot of people who miss this place and still come back often.
