Summary
In my ideal world, very few things get thrown away. They get fixed, reused, fixed again, and ultimately recycled. In the real world, in Canada, that's not how it is. But it could be. Wouldn't it be great if there was a website with a schematic diagram for all kinds of consumer products. Say, my blender. It doesn't work but I hate to throw it away when 99% of it is still good. Maybe there is someone who likes tinkering and could fix the blender if they had the parts and maybe the diagrams. So, people who have broken stuff would post the make and model. People who like fixing would bid on the broken stuff (maybe just pay shipping, maybe only get goods they can acquire locally). Fix it, sell it on. Imagine if every object in our house could be fixed instead of thrown away. How would the site make money? Probably by advertising. Maybe sponsorships where landfills are scarce. Maybe exclusive buying rights could be sold, e.g. first 10 days on any walkman listed.
