Summary
Graph-of Life is flickr +wikipedia + video editing software that is both personal and community oriented. Video editing software often has a large horizontal pallete representing time. One can add tracks (audio, video, etc) to this pallete to begin and end at different times. Using this paradigm, imagine that the track represents a person's life, beginning at birth and ending at death. For example, I create a project for each of my family members. I then insert pictures onto the track at the proper time location (daughter's 1st b-day pics goes on her track at Mar-05). Over time you develop a chronological family tree that operates like a slideshow. Users can tag pictures as well as time range (e.g. trip to vegas). Makes money by selling exported DVD slideshows, tracks for websites, flipbooks, and advertising. On a community level, users could create public tracks for anything, eventually evolving into a slideshow of all mankind for all of history- think The Year in Pictures on roids.
