Summary
Problem: "Link Rot" is where an internet hyper-link leads to a web page that does not exist or has been changed in a way that makes the link less useful.
Solution: A web based solution that allows webmaster, academics and even people trying to preserve evidence for courts to create a web archive.
The service would have a hash key built into the URL that would allow someone to guarantee that the data had not been altered
I thought this idea had enough potential that I created a prototype website http://www.stayboystay.com
(silly name I know) But it is not implemented very well due to my lack of coding skills. But it should give you a rough idea of what I've been trying to do with it.
