My idea is for an IM & Social Networking service for the global community. The twist is that there would be translation services built in that would allow anyone from around the world to communicate using their native language.

So if I wanted to talk to someone in China or Japan and they only knew Chinese or Japanese, I would type something in English and the person I was talking with would simply hit a "Translate" button to translate it into their native language. When they reply, they would type it in their native language but when I receive the reply, I would simply click a "Translate" button and the IM would be translated into English.

Or we could automatically translate it behind the scenes. But I think there is value in allowing people to see and read the native language so they can "learn" a foreign language. So the site would also serve as a "tutoring" service for people who want to learn a foreign language or make friends in other countries.
