Summary
Ants releases tiny amount of chemicals, pheromones, to let other ants know where to go when there is food to be gathered,which allows Ants to stay in own trails around obstacles to their nests.
Same principle can be used for auto transportation. Each car, using a GPS, and transmitter (e.g. Mobile Phone) can leave bits of information while travelling along their route. This bits of information can then be aggregated to show the bigger picture of traffic condition, which then can be send back to the end user device in the car and other cars for real time traffic information around their location (in context).
This service also allows the subscribers to plan their journey around bad traffic, before they start.
It is imperative that the end user device must be simple to operate and priced affordably to maximize market penetrations (i.e. more ants on the road).
Potential revenue streams: location aware advertising, service subscription, equipments.
