Why in the world we can't have a notification for normal emails we send thru our email clients.

My idea is to have an email client that can identify when the email is opened a notification mail be sent to the sender just like in case with e-cards.

Currently email services offer auto responders that are at times used as vacation responders, but i suggest a notification that the sender gets once the email is read. Wish this idea is applied on gmail.
