Summary
Software is available for $450 to analyze tote-board numbers looking for profitable SHOW and PLACE bets at the track (which are available about 1 of every 5 races). WIN POOL is the most accurate indicator of the odds of a horse winning. SHOW and PLACE less so. When a horse takes a bigger percentage of bets in WIN pool than PLACE or SHOW pools, more so than the racetrack's take, then the odds are a bet on that PLACE or SHOW pool will be profitable by a slim margin.
I have already written a DOS version of this application (it is not complicated), but EXE files are oh-so-scary on the web. A webpage/javascript version which runs entirely in the browser could attract a much wider audience.
I'd like to offer a functional, web browser version of this app FOR FREE, and use it as a loss-leader to attract people to a private message board dedicated to the discussion of parimutuel betting. Subscription to the message board would be $20/year.
Targeted advertising in this space would be very valuable.
