the messaging and presencing component shall implement XMPP, while JXTA/P2P networks are implemented in file-sharing, which could be accessed by some friends, all friends, or everyone(public)
when friends are offline, backup of files could be uploaded to servers for reduncancy
this will be the next big thing, an all-in-one presence, messaging, and file sharing application inside a browser, I even have a BUSINESS Name for it already and i want to patent this, but I really have no idea how,
for all i know, all elements to be integrated in this grand project is opensourced, but sure it doesn't preclude patents and copyright, right?
the likes of Pidgin/Instantbird
and Participatory Culture Foundation's Miro comes to mind
shareaza is already a good thing in that it connects to most p2p networks today, but falls short on some expectations
