The basic idea is to sell advertising space in the shape of countries of the globe to company's all around the world. So when a advert id bought the company send in the logo they want to be placed over the county they have bought and when the country is clicked it will direct the user to the website of the advertisers choice. The purchase of country's is done by a highest bidder system. So the company who has paid the most money for the company owns it until they are outbid themselves. (The country is owned for a minimum of 3 days before the company can be out-bid.)
It is a unique advertising idea that gives an element of competitiveness and patriotism. It will also show a unique demographic chart as more money will be directed towards the MEDCs (more economically developed countries.) Both advertisers and the public (including press) will be drawn to the idea as it provides an ever changing and updating climate and also because the public would be interested in who owns their country.
