The idea is to provide and automatic transmission to manual car drivers. An infrared device be placed on the gear that is directed to the cap placed on the clutch. Infrared rays push the cap forward and hence press the clutch as the driver is changing the gear.

The driver can however set the IR device according to the clutch.
