Computers are great of course. But they shouldn't become the focus of how we interact with the world. If that happens then it diminishes people. A classic example is people sending emails as a substitute for conversation, whether its by phone or face to face. There is a place for email but it is misused and over-relied upon. So many times I've received such an email, dialled the person's number while deleting their email, and had the conversation that they should have initiated. Also, note-taking is much faster and more efficient using pen and paper. And the same goes for putting a complex chart or table together. It will ultimately be on the computer but is best started and developed with pen and paper. You're right too about personal interaction. All to often people in offices sit gazing into their screens for hours when they should be going round talking to people and making things happen. I get my laptops and peripherals from Portable Universe and I can thoroughly recommend them. The best thing for people to do is to talk to them, let them know what your needs are (both current and future) and they will come up with the best laptop for you.
