From a Cambrian House community idea to a very fun mini-game, GWABS continues its unstoppable march onto your desktop. The first taste of the GWABS feeding frenzy is here, download it now from the GWABS project page. The mini-game is a fast-paced, single player game that will get your feeding reflexes in shape for the full-on desktop to desktop battles you will encounter in the final version of GWABS.
Team GWABS would like to thank the community for their continued support and patience. We’re hard at work, and you are going to love the results.
Man this was a close one. Revver eeked by AllTheWorldsAStage.tv taking down Chuck_norris, and Productivity Plant emerged again very strong. Phew! I don’t know how to make the call on the final four, but that’s where you come in:
and continue to support your champion, or throw your weight behind your arch rival. Whatever happens, it down to these four. And one of them will emerge as our Red Pig. I wish our final four best of luck and …
Robinhood Fund is looking forward to announcing the winners of our $20,000 giveaway, and unveiling our new design and functionality.

It looks like Crowdsourcing will continue to garner media attention this year. The London Financial Times recently featured Cambrian House in an article that details the role of our community, using TechGuy and his JumbleLunch idea (currently in market test) as an example.
“The thing I like to talk about,” says Mr Sikorsky, “is that we have a chance to become the world’s first billion-person company.”
Also mentioned were other companies, including InnoCentive and Amazon’s Mechanical Turk, which operate using alternative models of crowdsourcing. It’s an interesting discussion, definitely worth checking out.
The full Financial Times article requires a subscription to view, but never fear! We have it as a PDF document for our community’s enjoyment. Give it a read, and then go submit an idea of your own!
Update: The article has been picked up by The Economist’s Executive Briefing, in partnership with the Harvard School of Business! Now you can access the full text of the article online here.
It’s like this people. Today the world was rocked when YOU decided which 8 Red Pigs should advance, and which should chill on the sidelines in this months IdeaWarz Tournament. Check out how close so of these match-ups were:
Congrats to all those advancing to RND2 - things will definitely begin to tighten up here.
Good news! People liked the Purple Cow Tournament contest so much we decided to keep it going for the Red Pig. So cheer on and vote for you champions each round of the tournament.
Something we don’t do enough of is thank outstanding community members. Like this morning I was going through some of the new ideas and I see great comments from community members saying:
• great idea
• it’s been done
• have you thought of this
This dialogue between community members and idea submitters is SO important. I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who take the time to give constructive feedback on people’s ideas. We don’t thank you enough.
The Purple Cow Tournament was about finding innovative, stand-out business ideas and the tournament struck rich with BTOWN and his idea Real Estate Investor. Congratulations… BTOWN on winning the IdeaWarz Purple Cow Tournament!
The All American’s slogan ‘Making dreams reality’ is precisely what Real Estate investor is all about.
The Idea:
“A combination of Prosper, and MySpace. I would like to have a website were people could meet, combine funds and buy and sale real estate. Not only could several investors get together to find and buy property. There could also be an area for local realtors, contractors, subs, plumbers etc. to bid for future jobs listed by members. An example: I have $200K to invest, I find 4 other people that also have $200K. We find a $1M property and buy it. If it needs work we list our needs on the site and let contractors compete for a lowest bid to work for us. Once the construction is complete: find a local realtor to list the property or find a local management company. Whatever your intentions, it could be completed with one website.”
“I’m a real estate investor and realtor, I also lend money on Prosper. Not everyone has the bank account of Donald Trump, but by having on online site to meet other investors and combine funds, someone with a little money to invest could get into the real estate investment game.”
BTOWN’s idea is amazing because it brings real estate investing to the masses. People who couldn’t invest due to a lack of capital and time can now leverage the experience and services of Real Estate Investor to help them on their path to financial freedom.
We are thrilled for BTOWN and can’t wait to begin working on his idea.
We also want to congratulate to our other finalist scrollinondubs. His idea Disruptive Virtual Render Farm was another favorite that made it to the finals. Scrollin’ is a serial entrepreneur. We look forward to seeing more of his ideas in upcoming tournaments Good job Scrollin’.
As tournament champion, the New Year is starting off with a bang! for BTOWN. Besides fame, glory, and praise from fans everywhere, BTOWN has earned a chance for his idea to be realized with a professionally executed Market Test (courtesy of Cambrian House), a $50 ThinkGeek gift certificate, and a stunning one of a kind Jessye Cook designed IdeaWarz tournament t-shirt.
If all goes well in the Market Test, BTOWN’s idea will be commercialized into a product branch with it’s own development, marketing and sales team.
So there you have it folks. Congrats again BTOWN and all the best to our future contestants, and may the BEST idea win.
According to the Chinese calendar, February 18th 2007 marks the beginning of the year of the pig. And being the early birds we are, we couldn’t think of a better way to kick off a New Year.
Just check out some of the creative ideas our IdeaWarz contestants came up with in 2006:
