I would propose the car company would enable customers to make down payment of 10% of the total cost of the said non-fossil fuel car (10 of £10,000 which is £1,000). I would enable customers to make down payments in two ways, at forecourts and most important in an extension to their web-site, via a secure on-line transaction system. At a conservative estimate if the car company involved could persuade 1 in 10,000 of the world population to make a down payment, you would generate $1 Billion in finance for the research and development of the non-fossil fuel car, and $10 Billion in overall sales. I believe that figure could and should be bettered. A very similar marketing scheme is working at the moment, and has raised $1 billion for the company concerned research and development needs, which I can prove proof of if needs be. In my marketing scheme I have also outline an on-line survey which would enable the customer to have an input into the design of the non-fossil fuel car. I would include it in the car company’s web-site, so when customers make a down payment, they will then have the ability to go on and fill out the on-line car survey, which will make them feel they have contributed to the design of the concept car, which the have. The designer of the car company concerned will find the information invaluable.

Advantages.

1) The Marketing scheme will raise a substantial amount (over $1Billion) of finance for the research and development, and the car company concerned competitors will not have that benefit, as the marketing scheme will be patented.
2) Will use the power of the internet in the marketing of the non-fossil fuel car.
3) Customers will be able to make down payment on-line.
4) The on-line survey will make customers feel they have a real input into the design of the non-fossil fuel car.
5) The designers will find the information gained from the on-line survey invaluable when designing the concept car.
6) The world will be a lot better place as there will be less green house gas emitted into the air, as there will be a mass produced non-fossil car on the market, thus less fossil fuel cars on the road.
7) The world will be less dependant on fossil fuel once there is a mass produced non-fossil fuel car in production.
8) The consumer will be happy as running a non-fossil fuel car will in the long run be cheaper than running a fossil fuel car, as petrol & diesel price are always go up, and there is a finite amount of fossil fuel anyway, so it will eventually run out.
9) Most western Governments would be more than happy to help the car company concerned to produce the world first mass produced non-fossil fuel car, simply because of the environmental benefits such a car will have.
